Home Security For Sale
Take a look for a moment and remember the horror of one of America's darkest days. Imagine had you been on the plane or in the tower. Think seriously and soberly because it is just a matter of time before a larger and much more horrible attack occurs. Last time it was 3,000. Next time it will be 30,000, 300,000, or 3,000,000.
Farfetched? Not if you believe the CIA, FBI, British MI5 and a multitude of other analysts, journalists, think-tankers and academics. The messages and predictions are all out there. And you don't need a top-secret, compartmentalized security clearance to have access and gain insight.
Let me give you you another unsettling idea: You are only minimally safer now than you were on September 10, 2001, particularly if you live in or near a big city, nuclear or chemical plant or regularly fly on an airplane. Again, all the reports and indications are out there, most in non-classified form if you're patient enough to read through them all and connect the dots.
However, let's not lose focus that while horrible things happen like that, there are also things that can happen having to do with accidents and natural disasters as well. There is not always someone plotting behind you that you need to be looking for. Sometimes bad things just happen in life for no apparent reason. However, the more prepared you are now the easier it will be to deal with those situations when they arise.
You will want to make sure you have the proper coverage, so consider if you will need anything other than your primary insurance as a result of where you live and your lifestyle. You of course ideally want medical, dental, and life insurance. We all hope to be as healthy as possible, but things happen unexpectedly. It could be a major unexpected illness or just an unexpected trip to the ER. In either case, these situations are stressful enough. Without insurance they can feel even more overwhelming because medical bills can be insanely high. Without insurance you could find yourself in a sticky situation where you don?t really have a way to pay them and/or with be in debt the rest of your life because of them. Even if you just get the basic health insurance for emergency situations it can be a life saver.
If you have a home you definitely will want homeowners insurance like you would put insurance on a hang of blackjack if an Ace was showing. Homes are expensive to buy and a major investment. On top of that, it isn?t just buying the home somehow and finding a way to pay the taxes on your home sweet home. Houses take upkeep constantly. Repairs can get very expensive and then there are the unexpected things that can just completely ruin your home. If your house was destroyed, would you be able to replace it on your own? As with all other types of insurance, you will want to choose homeowners insurance depending on where you live and your lifestyle. The average home insurance covers basic needs that all customers need, but you might need to get additional insurance or riders to meet your specific needs.
For example, if you live in Kansas you will want to make sure your Kansas home insurance covers things like tornado damage. Being in tornado alley means that there is unfortunately a very real chance your home could be damaged or demolished entirely by one. If you are in California you will want to make sure your home owners insurance covers fires. If you live in Florida you will want to check for hurricane damage coverage. And if you have Houston home insurance, you might want to check for fire or heat damage. In general you probably want to know have protection against fires and floods (if you live in a low land location). You shouldn?t assume that any basic insurance covers all specific natural disasters. So make sure you check and are actually covered for your most likely issues. To lose a home is a horrible feeling, particularly if it is in the blink of an eye it takes a tornado or fire to sweep through. But to not have any way of replacing that home is a much worse feeling and problem.
You might want to consider that your home owners insurance covers your home, but not necessarily all the things in that home. Of course some things can never be replaced and it is tempting to say that they could never be quantified monetarily. However, having furniture, clothes, cooking supplies, and all the basic necessities you probably don?t think about on a daily basis as critically important become shockingly missed when they are all taken at once. So make sure you have home contents insurance, because getting on with your life when it feels like it has just come to an end is easier when you have the means to put it back together.
There are things you can and probably do to protect your safety in your daily life, like using a phone number trace to track down a unknown number that has been harassing you, or using an email monitor to help protect yourself online. So take the time to talk to your insurance broker. Or you could even just get an online insurance quote and make sure you have the protection you need to keep your life running as smooth as possible.
